Medal of Honor recipients Leroy A. Petry, Ty M. Carter, and William D. Swenson are recognized during a ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda in Washington State, April 4, 2014. All three were awarded the medal, which is the highest military honor awarded for personal acts of valor above and beyond the call of duty, for their service during the Afghanistan war. Amongst those that spoke at the event included Gov. Jay Inslee and commanding general of the 7th Infantry Brigade at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Maj. Gen. Terry Ferrell.
